Our History

Supermaids, Inc. & Carpet Care is owned and operated by Guy Houston. Being the only child of a stay-at-home mom who kept an immaculate house, Guy started cleaning at the age of 10 when he started working in the family-owned grocery store. Keeping the grocery store clean was Guy's job in addition to keeping his living space clean and organized at home.

Not only did Guy learn to clean to perfection from his mother, but the eight years he spent cleaning the grocery store taught him how to keep spaces spotless. Competing with two major grocery chains in the small Texas town where he grew up, the family-owned grocery store acquired and kept good customers with friendly customer service and a "Golden Rule" policy which allowed them to compete successfully with the corporate giants.

After spending thirteen years pursuing a career in music, his passion, Guy needed a more profitable career path to support his growing family. And what better way to earn a living than with the cleaning skills he learned and used growing up! For two years, Guy worked a 1200 unit apartment complex making units ready for new tenants. Being a successful cleaner, he was then recruited by the first-ever residential cleaning company in the area. With no professional cleaning experience or the necessary business skills, this new cleaning company quickly went out-of-business.

Seeing the potential for residential cleaning, Guy wasted no time founding Supermaids and began cleaning the homes himself. After successfully cleaning over 1,000 homes, Guy began to hire and train employees to duplicate his procedures. In 1983 the business was incorporated and became Supermaids, Inc. Since that time, Supermaids has cleaned more than 500,000 homes and has earned an A+ rating with the Dallas Better Business Bureau.

There are now corporate franchise chains competing with Supermaids, Inc. just as there were in Guy's childhood and "we have survived for 30 years by applying the same "Golden Rule" customer service that I learned growing up."
